Wall Of Fame: Laura from Hartbeeps

underwater with ReubsWe welcome to the Wall of Fame, Laura From Hartbeeps

Laura Carpenter is a 30 year old mother of one who has recently moved to Rottingdean with her husband and 1 year old son. She runs a business called Hartbeeps which are music and sensory classes for children from birth to 5 years. She has just finished a job as a Primary School teacher in Reading and is giving her all to reaching as many mums in Brighton as possible with the magical Hartbeeps message.

Tell us about your kids?

Laura has a son called Reuben who is at the crawling and exploring everything stage. He loves to be out and about so no doubt you’ll see Reuben with Laura in tow checking out the local hotspots.

Tell us about your partner/ family/ support network?

Laura lives with her husband Paul who works from home but travels abroad regularly. Laura and her son Reuben are a good team but daddy is away.

Are you Brighton born and bred?

Laura has dreamed of moving to Brighton for years and is a definite city girl. When her house in Maidenhead sold she was overwhelmed to be moving down and living the dream. It’s the trade off of quiet town living with lots of friends close by, to having everything you could ever imagine on your doorstep but starting afresh with making friends.

What’s the best thing about being a parent in the city?

There is always someone who is up for a chat regardless of whether they know you or not. That’s always useful when you’re new to a place and feeling at bit at sea (pun intended).

Tell us about your favourite place in Brighton & Hove city?

The lawn opposite Palmeira Square when the sun is shining.

What’s your favourite Brighton memory?

Laura and her family are making memories every day in Brighton but seeing the sunset over Brighton beach on move day will be an absolute lasting memory.

What do you love doing in your spare time?

Swimming, cycling, making cakes to counteract all that exercise and watching films.

Tell us about your business or work?

As grown-ups bring their little ones into the venue, they are greeted with an enchanted garden setting which comes to life with puppets, parachutes and hidden treasures. Each session runs to a soundtrack which is themed for that day. For instance, so far in Brighton, we have taken the children to outer space, dived into the sea, nursed the teddies in toy hospital and thrown a party for teddy’s birthday. The beauty of Hartbeeps is that the creator, Sarah Godwin, has gone to great lengths to research child development and include every available strategy to help children achieve that next milestone. The songs are fun, the dressing up is silly and the props are memorable. There’s no better way to spend quality time with your child. The first session is always free so you’re encouraged to come along and check it out without any obligation.

Where can we find you?
