Wall of Fame: Kathleen from Little Times
This weeks wall of Fame is Kathleen. Living in South Heighton (near Newhaven) after recently moving from Brighton. Kathleen owns The Little Times and is often back in Brighton 4 days a week to meet other home educating families.
Age? 40
Kids? An 8 year old boy and a 4 year old girl
Partner? One loving, devoted, hardworking Dad
Brighton born & bred? Nope, born in Glasgow, grew up in Milton Keynes (poor me), went to Uni in Canterbury and then ran away to Brighton with my best friend!
What’s the best thing about being a parent in the city? Choice. There is so much to offer for families - parks, the beach, the sea, museums. And there is support for people that choose to parent differently here. I am part of a big home educating community in Brighton.
Occupation? Editor of The Little Times Fiveways magazine.
What are your interests? My kids, home education, my allotment and the occasional bike ride!
What’s your favourite Brighton memory (with or without child)? One of my first dates with my partner - having some drinks in Kemptown, running around the playground at Queen’s Park in the dark (I vaguely remember Rob getting wedged in the slide), giggling like teenagers (we weren’t) and ending up skinny dipping in the sea! I love my kids but I had a lot of fun back then!
Favourite place in Brighton and vicinity? The North Laine and Rottingdean Beach.
