Spooky Halloween Costumes for Children

I love Halloween! Pre-Busby I would host an annual Halloween party and always got involved in the Beach of the Dead event. Sadly this has fallen by the wayside the last couple of years as I was too tired (and pregnant) last year and this year Halloween seems to have crept up out of nowhere… I’m feeling very unprepared!

I’ve had a look in the shops but haven’t come across anything that’s made me go “I must own you and dress Busby in your scariness/hilarity” (it’s a fine line), and ordinarily I would make something, but I’ve had absolutely no time as I’ve recently returned to work following maternity leave.

I read on the lovely City Girl Gone Coastal’s blog that her son’s mummy costume was the only homemade Halloween costume at their school disco! Perhaps everyone is mega busy at the moment? I do love making costumes though… I think it’s the Drama graduate in me!

Anyway, despite the fact that I’ve had no time to crank up the sewing machine in the past month, I’ve still been perusing costumes online (and on trusty Pinterest) and wanted to share some beauties with you.

Next year will be different; we won’t have a wedding to organise anymore, and I am determined to take to my sewing machine and make Busby something! No throwing a sheet over her head and cutting out the eyes for my baby.

Have you made a Halloween costume this year or have you shop bought? Or do you even celebrate Halloween? I’d love to know!
