Share My School – A new interactive website for parents

ShareMySchool.com is a new website, set up by Alan and Fiona Mckinney. They have four children and live in Worthing. The website is notice board based and allows parents with children in the same primary school to connect and give advice and help to each other in an easy to use way. They did research to find out what info parents need to communicate with other parents, and decided to create an easy way to do it!

Every primary school is listed and parents sign up for free, login to their child’s school and start posting and receiving messages. The site is community based and sends out real-time alerts as new posts are added to your child’s school page on the site. The notice boards on there give parents a space to get help and ask questions for: swapping, buying and selling second-hand school, guides, brownies, rainbows cubs etc uniforms; the school run; childminders; school and local family events, activities, clubs and groups; support board for parents who are new to an area or whose child has started mid-way through term, and more.

Parents can also create and join babysitting circles, school run groups, book clubs etc through the ‘Circles’ feature.

The entire site is free and doesn’t run ads so has a really warm and friendly community feel. It’s definitely worth checking out the site FAQs and signing up, it’s a really new venture but is sure to become pretty popular in the not too distant future. If you sign up please remember to tell all the parents you know to do so too and start to spread the word!
