Review: Wildplay at Emmaus

3

Late last summer we were looking for a few different outings to do with Fizz. With it being gorgeous sunny weather we were looking for more outdoor, adventure style activities where we could just enjoy the outdoors and not get too hot.

Wildplay is a take on the idea of Forest Schools. Each session has a theme. Led by Nancy (and now Beky) the session had a guided tour picking out leaves, twigs and bramble to create our wizard (the theme for our session). The children loved picking out natural things to create with. Once collection ends we headed back to the huge teepee sat down, ate homemade nettle soup, enjoyed stories and rhymes and made our clay wizards.

Every step of the session was full of enthusiasm and adventure and because each part of the session wasn’t too long the children did not get bored. In fact they were attentive and smiley throughout.

After the craft element of the session we moved out side for a playtime and a treasure hunt.

I will be honest and say the time went so quickly! It was jam lacked full of fun and for £10 per session I really felt we had had value for money.

The next Wildpay is Kangaroos and Kookaburras on the 24th May. Book asap to secure a place as they do sell out really quickly! Email wildplaysussex@gmail.com to book on to any of the sessions.

We paid for our Wildplay session and reviewed independently.

  1. That looks a lot of fun. I love activities that use the natural environment and a good dose of creativity. Must look for something similar round here!

  2. Sounds like a lovely idea for some creative outdoor fun, I’d love to have seen some photos of your session, sounds really jam packed to keep the children enjoying every minute. I hope the next session gets a good take up too. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids
