I don’t know about you but family meals can be a bit of a pain especially when parents work different hours, children have a different timetable and sometimes you just don’t have that inspiration to get into the kitchen.
For me I made a pact with myself that the dinner table would be come a lovely family time rather than just a place to eat. Reminiscent of my childhood where a lot of time was spent around a table for homework and meals.
Stokke sent Fizz their new Stokke Steps for my personal blog earlier this year and I am finding that started the transition to the table naturally. Fizz seems to like being the owner of her own furniture and this has been the key to getting my girl to sit at the table. This along with a few items that are just hers has meant she is choosing to sit at the table to craft and eat if given the choice. That’s a big win in terms of her concentration levels and her moving out of the fussy eater stage. The chair is fantastic quality and easy to set up. With the price for the high chair only starting around £159 it is a high end product but if you think about the style/longevity and the reasons/ circumstances that you will need to use this product then it really is a great investment piece to
Gorgeous Nordic Brand Tulipop sent Fizz a few things to encourage her to sit at the table during family meals. This along with her own chair has been instrumental in her making the choice to sit at a table to eat too. We were sent the gloomy dinner set which has some beautiful artwork on. It isn’t until you ping it with your finger that you realise it’s not ceramic as it really does look it. It has washed up great too. There are a few minor scratches but not through the artwork, the artwork has not worn at all, the colour hasn’t faded and the image is as bright as when we received it a month ago.
These few things along with our homemade craft box have really helped with Fizz’s concentration. I am pretty sure that her feeling of ownership at the dinner table has made a huge difference to her concentration levels too.
Do you have set time at the dinner table for meals and play? Do your children have their own chair/utensils and dinner set?
