Powerwalk Playlist Friday

I need YOUR help. What are your ultimate powerwalking or running tunes? Every Friday morning on BrightonMums.com is powerwalk playlist time. I’ve popped my favourite tunes into a Spotify playlist for everyone to enjoy and I want to hear what you love powerwalking or running to. Which song makes you pick up the pace with a smile? Or motivates you to get moving when you really don’t want to?

IMG_9711Powerwalk Friday usually involves me going for a hilly, fast walk and pumping out the tunes which get me energised over my headphones, then sharing on Instagram, in my Stories. If you follow me there, you may have noticed.

Back in 2013, I got into running, big time. I ran a 10k then two half marathons (which makes a whole right?) - it was my brand new thing. Until I developed a mysterious injury, either the top of the hamstring or adductor, that even the physio couldn’t really tell what was going on. The likely explanation was the ligament enlarged, then the friction was causing shooting pains. And sadly, it still lingers. Turns out running isn’t my thing after all.

But what I loved about running was getting out in the open and moving about. I was never one for treadmills and MTV in an overpriced gym. Which is why I switched to powerwalking. It delivered enough endorphins to keep me happy but also gets me up on the Downs, taking in some pretty terrific views of our city.

IMG_9359Catch me on Instagram, every Friday and message me your fave tunes or add them straight into the collaborative list.
