This month sees a season of summer vibrance coming to Brighton. Artist’s Open Houses comes along every May and this time we are going to show off some friends on Brighton Mums as well as some other lovely places we want to visit on our local artist trail.
Our first pick is 8 Reason Why I Ought to Get a Dog from Sophie Sheinwald. I have met Sophie on many occasions and her vibrance led me to ask her to do some head shots for my blog and business (that’s another blog post shortly).
I recently bumped into Sophie at a local networking group where you could see the passion behind her latest photography project. Although she doesn’t have a dog herself she was full of passion for our four legged friends and was so enthusiastic about sharing the stories behind person and pet.

Sophie has also started a Facebook Page called 8 Reasons I Ought to get a Dog where you are welcome to share photos and thoughts about canine related topics.
Sophie Sheinwald will be exhibiting eight framed prints celebrating this rather unique relationship between dog and human. There will be a Schnauzer from Ditchling and a French Bulldog from NY City amongst others. You can find her work at at Blackwood Studios, Spring Street in Brighton, exhibited alongside three other artists this May.
Sophie specialises in events and headshots and can also be booked for bespoke portrait commissions.
