Movie Mondays

Movie days/ mornings should be factored into everyone’s life, time to relax and also spend time with your nearest and dearest. It’s a good way to get a cheeky cuddle from your little ones too without them realising. There are so many days where you literally don’t stop, it’s nice to plan a day to do nothing but watch movies. You may be surprised that children with even the shortest attention span find this a real treat.

First things first, a blanket.

Snuggling up under a blanket watching a film has to be the nicest feeling, whether it’s warm outside or not, this is one item that’s a “must have” Bring your duvet down as that’s sure to be lovely and snuggly.

Make it cosy

Now you have a blanket sorted, make your room cosy, pull the curtains, turn off the lights and add lots of pillows/cushions. Seeing as you’re sitting down for well over an hour, you need to be comfy. Move the chairs if necessary so you don’t get a crick in your neck.

Popcorn & snacks

This goes without saying, every film requires a bowl full of goodies, popcorn is the obvious choice and there is so many types now out there you’ll be spoilt for choice! Crisps and dips are a good one too, you just need to be sure the crunching doesn’t get excessive or you’ll not be able to hear the film.

Drinks

Ok, so you may be thinking this is an obvious choice but there really is nothing worse than sitting down to a film and forgetting you haven’t got yourselves a drink. Getting up in the middle can disturb everyone too. By getting all the supplies ready you can have a jolly good relax, oh and don’t forget to go to the toilet before sitting down too.

Peace and quiet

Turn your phone off! Doing this will not only not disturb your film, it will give you and your children/ company your undivided attention. Remember that annoying couple who wouldn’t stop playing with their phones and taking your attention away? Well that could be you! It’s actually a really nice feeling having a break from everything.

So, there’s our top 5 movie tips, have we missed one you’d recommend? We usually buy, swap or sell dvds so that once our little one is bored or grows out of them. Do you have a movie swap shop going on?
