Aromatherapy Massage with Lucy’s Holistics, Brighton

0

It’s fair to say that I’m a pretty stressed Bride-to-be at the moment. With only seven weeks to go until the Big Day I feel like I still have tons to do, and you’d think that after almost two years of planning (well, not quite - I did have a baby in the middle of that!) I’d be a little bit more organised… Thankfully, the amazing Lucy Johns of Lucy’s Holistics has been on hand to help chill me out and work out some of the tension I’ve been feeling. Who knew family members could go so crazy over a wedding, eh?

Lucy’s aromatherapy massages are tailor-made to you. Lucy contacted me the day before my massage to ask how I was feeling and whether there was anything I’d like her to work on during our session. I requested the “Ultimate Bridal Massage”, which I’ve had previously and is absolutely divine. Lucy uses three oils for this massage; grapefruit, bergamot and black pepper, and the combination smells gorgeous. All the oils promote stress, tension and anxiety relief, and the grapefruit oil also helps with weight loss!

Lucy is based at the Anahata Health Clinic on Edward Street (just off Eastern Road). It’s very easy to get to, with a bus stop right outside! The Anahata Health Clinic has a lot of “hippy” charm (they have even created their own water filters) and the staff are always very friendly.

Lucy has a fantastic manner with her clients and is very friendly - if you’ve never had a massage before, or are nervous, she definitely puts you at ease!

Prior to the massage she asked me whether there were any areas of tension I’d like to work on. I carry a lot of stress in my shoulders, so I asked whether she could try and work some of that out, but other than that, an all over massage would be great. After getting undressed I lay on the bed and Lucy got to work! She started on my legs and feet, gradually moving up my back and then shoulders. They were rather tense, and she spent a long time working out the crystals of all my wedding planning worries! Then I turned over and Lucy worked on my neck and shoulders again, but this time from the front.

After the massage I felt like I was floating! Lucy gave me five minutes to get up and have some water, before coming in and talking through the various areas where I was holding more of my worries.

I would definitely recommend Lucy and her amazing massages to everyone in Brighton! Her prices start from £22, and her sessions last 50 minutes. Lucy is trained in a number of different massage styles so pop over to her website, Facebook page or give her a call on 07838 049379 for more information.
