Brighton is full of cafés but Lovefit in Brighton Square, in the Lanes, stand out for various reasons. Aimed squarely at the health conscious, they also source organic, fair trade produce where possible plus source packaging from eco-suppliers. Eating there is a tasty, guilt-free experience.
Finding places to eat out where the menu is tasty, healthy and light on calories is often a huge challenge. Either the menus are laden with super fatty or sugary dishes or you simply don’t know what is in your meal. Despite food manufacturers generally labelling all their food with nutritional information, restaurants and cafes are alarmly slow to catch up. In fact, there are only a small number of national chains which detail nutritional information on their menus clearly, surprisingly Wetherspoon’s is one. Local pubs and restaurants are even scarcer to get the information from.
This is where Lovefit is a breath of fresh air. There’s a wide range of dishes on the menu from breakfast to hot lunches, all clearly marked on the menu, including how many of your 5-a-day is contained within the dish and WeightWatchers ProPoints (R). They also source as many of their ingredients as locally as possible plus source packaging from eco-suppliers, initiatives including bio-degradable plastics for take-away cups and recyclable paper consumables. This is a well thought through proposition for diners, which means you can eat there with the family, guilt-free, in more ways than just watching your waistline.
This is what families need while being out and about with the kids. A place that’s reasonable in cost, with delicious and diverse food options and endorses the diet many of us fight huge food manufacturers to defend our children from. And Lovefit’s reach is growing. Their first cafe opened in shopper & tourist centric Brighton Square, they now offer a lovely eating environment near the station on Queen’s Road.
We think Lovefit is quintessential Brighton and we love it!
