Keeping Warm on Bonfire Night

Bonfire Night is swiftly approaching… (Everything is swiftly approaching at the moment; it seems to have a habit of doing this since becoming a parent) Are you braving Lewes for the fireworks? No? Us neither - we’re getting out and heading up North to visit the in-laws before the carnage begins!! But if you are being bold and heading out in the cold, here are my top tips for warm clothing.

Outerwear

Outerwear is everything on an Autumnal/Winters Eve; I like to think you can be warm AND stylish!

Let’s start with foot wear. I’m a bit of a wellie-holic, which is convenient as wellies are very “in” at the moment! (My inner-country-self is very happy about this.) I am in love with these yellow Hunter wellies, but alas the budget won’t quite stretch there… Source

Next you need a warm cosy coat. These faux fur winter jackets for women are pretty trendy at the moment… just look at the hoods on the parkas! I am feeling pretty smug as I managed to find my winter coat in a charity shop this year for £8! It’s sensible but beautiful and it was almost brand new.

Scarves and gloves

I do love a good scarf! I bought a snood this year and it has become my cosy must-have when I head out in the cold. It’s just so soft and warm! I’m still on the hunt for some new gloves as I’d like some that convert into fingerless gloves so I can type on the go (Social Media Addict!), but alas I haven’t found any that I’ve fallen in love with yet.

What about for your Little One?

Well, once again they can be warm and still look good. I really like the Children’s Onesies range here, which would be perfect for underneath a gorgeous snowsuit teamed up with mittens (that they can’t pull off)! And they would look super cute once you get home for that post-Bonfire night hot chocolate!
