Is This The Ultimate Travel Buggy?

We’ve had our first look at the Babyzen YoYo today and we are ready to put it to the ‘BrightonMums.com test’ over the next weeks. Pitched as the most compact buggy ever imagined (52 x 44 x 18 cm when folded), the 5.8kg stroller has been designed with city parents and travellers in mind.

It’s been unpacked, unfolded and comfort-tested by Boo, who is 19 months old, plus an initial height test by Daddy who is all of 6ft. So without a proper road test, it’s already ticked a few boxes. But will it be the buggy parents ‘must-have’ for travelling with infants? With the retail price of £309, will it be worth every penny vs. a regular a-frame buggy or fastfold models such as the Micralite?

We’re off on a big trip to the States at the end of the month, which includes long-haul non-direct flights and 5 day road trips where boot space is a premium (or should we say ‘trunk’ space!). Our holiday will include sight-seeing, meals out and attending a music festival, so the buggy will certainly be closely scrutinised by parents and grandparents who have done this before with other kids and other buggies for comparison.

So keep reading our review section for more on our big family trip and this exciting new buggy.

Babyzen’s video shows the key features and a lady who unfolds it much easier than I did on my first try but like all baby gear, it takes practice I’m sure! I jest of course, after reading the instructions *ahem* it’s as easy as A-B-C.

Babyzen YoYo is expected to be in stock in the UK from April 2013 exclusively from Whitestep. BrightonMums.com have a sample on loan to test the product.
