Although I was pregnant with Fizz over a summer I was in the second trimester. This time I’ll be giving birth to a newborn at the height of summer and so I wanted to share some things that are on my must have list.
A maternity swimsuit - New Look asked me to choose a maternity swimsuit just in time for the sun to start shining. I asked a family member to choose one and they picked a more practical tankini from the selection. At £30 it wouldn’t have broken the bank but I agree that a vest/pants combo is better than a full swimsuit. The suit fits her really well at halfway through and the pattern is lovely and not too over the top.
Harem Pants - I love everyday lounge wear at the moment and harem pants are a must have for me. Even on the laziest days pop on a pair and a nice top and it sets you up for the day. Cosey to cover bump whether maternity or not. These are heading into my hospital bag along with today’s purchase of sun jellies.
An organic sunscreen - Personally I have found that my skin has changed a lot during pregnancy. It catches the sun quite easily and scents seem to irritate it. Green People sent me one of their lovely sun screens to try out. I am a fan of their kids sunscreen already as it’s not too thick and gloopy and doesn’t aggregate Fizz’s skin. This scent free one is just as lovely and I’ve applied it every day with no adverse reaction. Or that film sunscreen often leaves. At the moment it is buy one get one 1/2 price!
Flavoured Water - my favourite water is of the laboured variety and I love the strawberry volvic. Gav used to bring this to me when I was in hospital too. I know they say water doesn’t have a flavour but seriously depending where you live does affect the taste.
Netflix - this as been my friend during hot, humid nights/days. Ok so it’s not really a summer thing but it has kept me sane when I had pregnancy insomnia, restless nights, long days. Pop on a box set and relax.
