Bumps and Babies (Hove) Members and Non Members

NCT Brighton & Hove’s ‘Bumps & Babies’ weekly group aims to focus on the parent as much as the child with activities, talks and events that will nurture parents and delight baby. Each week features something different to ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy, including sitting down for a chat whilst enjoying a free cup of coffee or tea and some yummy cake or biscuits.

A small team of volunteers has created a group that welcomes all expectant and new parents in Brighton & Hove and introduces a variety of experiences to enjoy with others who are also embarking on this exciting new phase of life. The group makes an ideal meet-up location for those who have met during NCT signature or essentials ante-natal classes and want to continue their new-found friendships both before and particularly after the birth.

This welcoming group runs sessions of activities and events covering topics relevant to those with bumps, newborns and babies under two. Examples of activities and speakers in the past have included: baby signing, baby first aid, baby reflexology and baby massage, baby sensory, hypno-birthing, breastfeeding support.

You do not have to be a member of NCT to attend the group. We ask for a donation of £2 to contribute towards the costs incurred in running the sessions – this includes the costs of refreshments, which are provided to attendees for free.

As you are no doubt aware, parking is very difficult to come by in central Brighton & Hove, so unfortunately there is no parking available at the venue. However there is on-street pay and display parking nearby subject to availability. The venue is also next to Hove Station and a number of buses stop either outside Hove Station or on Blatchington Road which is a 5 minute walk to the venue.

The group is run entirely by volunteers, and we are always on the look out for more to attend for a few hours per week to help set up/clear away the room with refreshments, our toys etc and also to help run the group by organizing the diary of forthcoming speakers. Speakers usually bring some leaflets etc with them in case you are interested in finding out more. Leaflets are also put out from previous attendees each week for those who were unable to make particular sessions in case these are of interest.
