When I look back through my family snaps I see not many of us as a family. The same could be said for my business pages too. I have been taken over by the ‘selfie’ phenomena and most of my photos are now taken this way. The iPhone means it is so easy to just snap and then share. Some of my favourite photos are ones that capture us as a family, totally unaware.
Do we really need professionals to take our photos?
Some of my favourite photos are ones that capture us as a family, totally unaware. But I met up with Sophie, a Hove based photographer, for a series of photographs for my business and social media profiles. I wasn’t disappointed and it got me thinking about how many photographs we actually have of the 3 of us. In my childhood photo albums there are lots of professional shots. As we move into becoming a family of 4 I want to be able to have the same for my children too. How often are we all in the photos we take, how many of us feel unhappy when someone takes a photograph of us and publishes it onto Facebook?
This is where a professional photographer like Sophie comes in. It is her job to make you feel at ease with yourself. It took me a while to loosen up in our session, apparently the switch from stilettos to Doc Martin boots immediately made me feel more with it. You have to be comfortable. Sophie directed me but more importantly made me laugh and giggle. I hope you agree she managed to take some lovely photos.
Sophie says on her own website:
The ability to spot a moment and transfer a feeling that stands out from other moments is the art of photography. That’s the joy and that’s what any good photographer aims for. That’s the aim of Sophie Sheinwald Photography.
