‘Crafty’ Brighton Mums Reach Finals of National Awards

The Little Button Diaries blog is a finalist in the search for Best Craft Blog

Local mums Laura Minter and Tia Williams are celebrating this week after reaching the finals of the UK’s prestigious MAD Blog Awards.

Tia and Laura have reached the finals of the fifth annual Mum and Dad (MAD) Blog Awards, which celebrate the UK’s thriving parent blogging community. Their blog, Little Button Diaries – littlebuttondiaries.com – is one of five finalists up for the Best Craft Blog award.

Tia and LauraMore than 200,000 nominations were submitted in the awards this year, with just 75 blogs reaching the finals.

Tia and Laura said: “We are utterly gobsmacked that we have reached the finals. We began the blog last year as a way of getting crafty projects finished (always a challenge with little ones around). There are such a lot of inspiring bloggers and crafters in Brighton and we’re really lucky to be among them. We’re really hoping to make them and our Little Buttons proud.”

The mums will find out if their blog is a winner in September, at a red carpet award ceremony in London. For the next month, readers can vote for their blog at www.the-mads.com/vote. If Little Button Diaries is named the winning blog, Tia and Laura will win £100 of crafty goods by Craft Merrily.

“The MAD Blog Awards celebrates the thousands of parents up and down the country who have discovered blogging as a way to capture family memories and make new friends. The standard of entries this year was incredible, and we’re so impressed with all the finalists’ blogs,” said Sally Whittle, founder of the MAD Blog Awards.
