Are you a community spirit? Do you love social networking and discussing local issues? Then BrightonMums.com need you. We are looking for correspondents in areas all over the city to gather information and news .

The parent community is a rich source of information and stories, we are well connected though nurseries, schools and other family activities. We want to weave this local network closer together and share information on issues and activities which effect or will help family life.

Press and passers byBrightonMums.com is a community website run by volunteer parents. Our editorial style is honest, unbiased, ethical, socially conscious and balanced writing. Sponsored content helps fund the site but we are selective in our partners and posts are clearly marked. We aim to be an antithesis for the increasingly desperate & sensational local mainstream media & national tabloids.

The Role:

To report and share pieces of information relating to your local area via our Facebook Editorial Group. This is a private group where we pitch ideas for stories and co-ordinate our editorial. This could be on topics such as:

  • local political matters/ elections
  • community or neighbourhood issues e.g. parking, dog mess, parks, vandalism, anti-social behavior
  • local charities or support groups
  • events – we have an events calendar coming soon, you can either post in the group or schedule it in the calendar
  • small local business events/ openings
  • pictures or videos of your area – random images or thoughts from around the city.

If you’ve ever fancied writing, you can start here but that’s not obligatory. We have a team of writers we can match to the story or post on social media.

The Benefits:

Opportunities to advertise your business, charity, cause or event for free and regular mentions on social media plus many more including some monetary.
