BabyExpo is back in Brighton with a new Autumn date – November 13 - a fabulous new venue, the state-of-the-art American Express Community Stadium and under new ownership – now part of the award-winning ‘What’s on 4’ family of international children’s activity websites which welcome a million visitors a year! The event will be officially opened by Special Guest Phil Gallagher from Cbeebies Mister Maker who will be performing live, touring the show and meeting very lucky prize-winning children.
Visitors can also look forward to seeing Jo Tantum, the UK’s number 1 baby-sleep expert, twin expert and best-selling author as seen on TV. Jo will be sharing her top tips on babycare, from those first few hours and days to toddlerhood and will also be giving away her fabulous ‘Go Anywhere Portable Blackout Blind’ and ‘SleepyTime’ products to lucky winning parents!
Also on the main stage will be celebrated child-rearing guru Sue Atkins, the best-selling author of ‘Raising Happy Children for Dummies’ as seen on BBC Breakfast, The Jeremy Vine show and across the national press! Sue will be sharing her advice and speaking on ‘The Secrets to Well-Behaved Kids - the terrible twos and beyond!’ Not to be missed if you are pregnant or already facing the trials of toddlerhood! Dads won’t want to miss the UK’s only fully qualified male antenatal teacher, Dean Beaumont, dad of two, founder of DaddyNatal and as featured on BBC The One Show and described by the Daily Mail as an ‘antenatal pioneer’! The new November date, offering a fabulous pre-Christmas shopping extravaganza is proving very popular with exhibitors and visitors alike.
‘As mums ourselves we know what parents want from this event’ explains Sam Willoughby, MD of What’s on 4. ‘Last year we held our What’s On 4 Junior Awards at BabyExpo and I was so impressed by the event that What’s On 4 just had to be a bigger part of it. We’re the new owners but it’s the same great team delivering parent’s check-list of easy access, affordability, expert advice, celebrity guests, famous brands, innovative products, plentiful parking, seating and catering plus a fantastic entertainment programme’.
And this inspiring babyshow event is bringing even more to visitors this year with the introduction of 2 new areas – ‘Innovation Alley’, which will be showcasing the very latest products and services to the ‘baby’ market and the ‘Flexible Working Zone’ in association with ‘mumandworking.co.uk’. Suzanne Borrell, who founded the show in 2007 and is now a WO4 Director explains ‘We know that the visitors flood to BabyExpo from over 25 counties because of the range of fabulous exhibitors – particularly those unique and exciting new businesses - so ‘Innovation Alley’ was born and is already close to sell out. Participating companies include ‘Snugglebundl’ – showcasing the world’s first baby lifting blanket and winners of the Barclays ‘Take One Small Step’ Competition in 2011. The rise of the ‘mumpreneur’ has lead to the development of the ‘Flexible Working Zone’ – we know how many parents are keen to enjoy their families alongside a stimulating career and we are delighted to have the support of national website mumandworking.co.uk for this exciting initiative.’
Event media partners once again are ABC Magazine and Heart 97-104 – who will be hosting special on-air pre-show competitions. ‘BrightonMums.com - the online hub for parents’ will be live blogging and filming on the day and there’s a new media supporter to greet environmentally-aware parents and parents-to-be. This year, The Natural Parenting Zone will be hosted by Juno Magazine welcoming a fabulous variety of companies offering ‘greener’ parenting options.
Also not to be missed are Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust with mini-seminars on pregnancy, labour, as well as breastfeeding advice and healthy lifestyle tips; the amazing ‘Best Beginnings - Get Britain Breastfeeding’ national roadshow (see image left) as well as further classes/demos and fun to include baby massage, life-saving first aid, the all-day-play zone, The Mobile Ark Petting Zoo, face painters, bouncy castles, the Albion football museum and much more. Full catering, baby change (as sponsored by Tiddley Pom Baby Spa) and breast feeding areas (as sponsored by Bubbalugs Bamboo Nursing Shawls) will be provided with ample parking at the Stadium and on the adjacent Sussex University Campus.
