You don’t have to be from Brighton to have heard of The Grand Hotel with its central location between the two piers and its unrivalled sea views. The hotel has had quite a revamp in the last few years and has also changed hands recently so when BrightonMums was invited to go and check out The Spa @ The Grand, including their new product range from The Natural Spa Factory our beauty enthusiast, Jemma Paterson, didn’t hesitate to go along.
I haven’t been to The Grand since its refurbishment and the difference was striking with a much more contemporary feel both in the lobby bar and the new restaurant, GB1. This theme continues in The Spa with its sleek lines, sumptuous fabrics and first-class facilities including a relaxation lounge, sauna, steam room and spa café. In addition, it has eight treatment rooms including one for couples.
A therapist showed me around the spa and although I didn’t receive any treatments, I did get to sample a few of The Natural Spa Factory products from the Gold and Illuminate range. The products pride themselves on staying away from nasty chemicals and parabens, using products that are home-made and packed full of natural ingredients. The Spa also uses Carita products for those wanting something a little different. The products I tried on the evening were impressive, there was certainly no suggestion that luxury had been sacrificed for keeping the products natural, some even contain champagne so what’s not to like about that!
I chatted at length with Gillian, the manager of the spa and it is clear she’s really passionate about the fresh look of the spa and the new products on offer, particularly the ability to create signature treatments tailored to the customer.
It’s not cheap, with facials starting at £75 and massages starting at £65 but I think I’ll be back for a little bit of me time and to try the gold champagne facial in full…
