Service costs nothing & everything
This week we had a dissappointing service at a restaurant that served very lovely food. However, it is my firm belief, one without the other negates the whole experience. Us Brits still have a sticky relationship with service. Many of us are still quite happy to grumble under our breath while being served cold, late meals by grumpy waiters. We relish on-line review sites where we can give the feedback we didn’t want to ‘spoil [...]

Brighton’s Dancing Man
He’s Brighton’s favourite festival regular having been seen on the scene for years now. I remember him as far back as ten years ago, down at the Funky Fish (then Catfish club), whirling the ladies around the floor and generally emulating Michael Jacksons more tame moves. I fondly call him Mr Jazz Hands but what do you know him as? Do you have a story about this unique local character? Does anyone know a little [...]

Dinosaurs take over Churchill Square
BrightonMums.com went down to Churchill Square last week as we received reports dinosaurs had taken over the shopping centre. This is what we found……. Everything looked pretty normal as we walked into the centre. There were plenty of people going about their usual shopping business, no sign of panic that monsters were lurking. But as we descended down to the lower floor, I could see the Tyrannosaurus Rex towering near the glass lift and I [...]

Paddle Round The Pier
The seafront was buzzing today with this annual local festival. We enjoyed helping out Child Friendly Brighton building sandcastles. There were a lot of stalls from sports wear, beer stands and the usual array of Brighton things hippy and unique. A lovely yearly festival which shows the great vibe the seafront events creat in the summer. We found great music and shade today and here is a clip from our day.
