Review: Bobux i-walk rosewood Jessica boots

“Gorgeous and hard wearing” Read more of Ellie’s review of her daughter Kayla’s new Bobux Boots!

I was really excited when the postman delivered my daughter Kayla’s new boots. The parcel was even wrapped in a pink wrapper. Kayla and I eagerly opened the box to a pair of beautiful pair of little boots. They were gorgeous! A subtle red colour that would match all Kayla’s winter wardrobe, leather that you could tell was hard wearing and this wonderful lining that was silky soft. Kayla signed rabbit after stroking the lining, so I guess she thought it was furry like the Nursery pet rabbit ‘Mog’. They also had a thick rubber sole that looked like it could stand up to muddy puddles on a rainy day.

The sizing chart we followed in the internet site was easy to follow, just measure the length of your childs feet to match up with the correct sizing. As I chose winter boots I rounded up by .5 size to allow for thick socks.

We tried on the boots immediately though to give them a whirl around the living room. Even with no socks they went on easily, the zip was smooth to do up.

Kayla loved them; she did this cute little stomp around the living room, it was so funny! She gave a loud cheer in approval. Having a little prod around at the sizing against Kayla’s feet (as all mums do) I found that they fitted well but still had some room for growth (and big winter socks). As Kayla was happy stomping around in them I was happy to let her wear them until bed time.

At the weekend, typical English summer weather – it looked like it was going to rain any moment but it was quite warm. We were going off into the country to a car boot sale and then have lunch in a country pub – typical English weekend! I thought as the weather was a bit suspect we would give the boots a thorough testing.

Walking around the car boot field was fine in the little boots, Kayla again stomping down grass – Stomping is her new game! Kayla even chose herself a couple of new story time books while stomping around.

Would you believe it as we were driving to the county pub about midday the sun comes out – and its hot! I thought I’d keep an eye on Kayla’s feet getting too hot in the boots in the sun but they were fine, quite comfortable really.

And then the final test of the boots – climbing all over the climbing frame/slide in the beer garden. I was a bit worried about the red leather scuffing and ruining the boots; but that’s what they are made for – playing in!

Overall the boots held up well. There was some scuffing involved in the toe area, maybe the rubber sole could have been brought up over the toe to prevent the leather wearing away, but other than that they were great – Kayla loved and we loved them.
