The Most Polite Squatters In Brighton

While the application is in for the EBC Motor Factors shop on Elm Grove to be converted to a residential property, squatters have moved in. Usually this would be a concern but after meeting them today and seeing these notes in the window, I now think these may be the most polite squatters in Brighton.

These notes were stuck to the shop door’s window.

Thoughtful, polite and a little charming. But then. Look at this from the landlord, no less!

Sqautters 3As I read the notes, I asked them if I could take photos. “I’m not photographing you, just the notes”. Once of the chaps tipped his camouflage kepi and smiled.

We had letters from some of our neighbours, asking us to protest about the conversion but Brighton has a housing problem, we need more dwellings, so I’m loathed to protest against neighbours I haven’t even met yet.
