We all love giving and receiving family photographs for Christmas, especially of the newest additions to the brood. Jo Wise’s Baby Club documents three stages of your baby’s life with professional and experienced photography. We decided to register Boo and went along to Jo’s studio in Worthing to have a session with big sister in tow.
With several years experience in photography, Jo is very creative. She is the Cherubs representative for Worthing, a promotional photography programme run by the Master Photographers Association, which captures key moments in the first year with your baby. Jo Wise’s own Baby Club, follows the same steps. For a £25.00 registration fee, you receive three photo sessions where you can pick three photos giving you a memorable folio of your baby. You can also take siblings and have family photographs taken at the session. Her studio is nestled in the back of her garden at her house, which is easy to find off the A27. With the environment Jo creates for the babies (the studio was nice and toasty ready for some photos of baby how she came into the world!) and for parents, she is able to coax out visual aspects of their personalities you can’t always get with your smartphone or point and shoot.
We had one little diva on our hands with my toddler, as she couldn’t really understand the photo session wasn’t about her. But we captured some wonderful poses and once they’d had the Jo Wise treatment, we saw our little ones in a completely different light. The only problem you will have is choosing which ones to buy! Be prepared to fall in love.
Jo’s top tips for finding a family photographer:
1. View the photographers website and make sure their style is what you are looking for. Most photographers have a certain style of shooting.
2. Try and meet with your photographer before the session or at least discuss your requirements over the phone.
3. Check out the prices beforehand. Cheap doesn’t always mean good but make sure they are within your budget.
