Social Value Matters: Promoting and mainstreaming social value

There is a wealth of innovative work happening in Brighton and Hove and Sussex to better understand and embed social value.

This half day event is being held to bring Local Authorities, the NHS, the Voluntary and Community Sector, businesses and social enterprises together to unlock social value for their communities.

The event has been designed to:
Demonstrate the variety of ways that social value can be embedded in public and Voluntary and Community organisations’ practices
Highlight the Brighton & Hove Guide and gain some understanding of how this has helped integrate social value into commission
Meet our Local Authority & Health Social Value representatives and Social Value Champions from key national and regional strategic bodies
Give Insight into the opportunities that the Social Value Act presents
Share learning about cross-sector collaboration and partnership working
The event will be hosted by the Institute of Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) and speakers on the day will include:
Nick Temple, Social Enterprise UK
Dave Sweeney, Director of Transformation and Deputy Chief Officer of NHS Halton CCG
Larissa Reed, Executive Director Neighbourhoods, Communities & Housing Brighton & Hove City Council

Presentations will include:
A City Approach to Social Value and Mainstreaming the Social Value Act
Embedding Social Value in Commissioning and Procurement Practice
Social Value in the 3Ts Hospital Redevelopment Project
Embedding Social Value in the Third Sector Investment Programme
