BrightonMums.com are celebrating the launch their new look site with a charity event. The event to be held at Uniquely Organic Eco Spa in Hove, Thursday 2nd June, will be raising money for the Trevor Mann Neo-natal Unit at the Royal County Sussex Hospital.
BrightonMums.com is a features and reviews site focusing on parental interests in the Brighton, Hove and wider Sussex area. ‘We wanted to create an online community hub specific to the region that included articles about local people, places and events.’ co-founder Chelle McCann explains, ‘we also have a panel of parents from around the city who regularly review products from their unique ‘tried and tested’ perspective.’.
The team used Electric Button web design to give the site a new layout and colour scheme but have kept already popular pages such as ‘Out and About’ previews and verdicts of places to go in the city and beyond and the ‘Mum’s Wall of Fame’, a Q & A feature with a local parent each month. It will also be available in mobile format smartphones on WordPress, perfect for busy parents on the move.
Uniquely Organic Eco Spa have donated their premises from 11am and will be offering treatments where proceeds will be given to the chosen charity. BrightonMums.com have organised a raffle with generous prizes including Sunday Lunch for 2 at The Thistle Hotel, a £50 voucher for www.cloggs.co.uk , a Nuby electric breast pump kit, 1 hour reflexology session courtesy of Second Nature Birthing, lunch for 2 at LoveFit Café, a £20 voucher for Lilas Party stationary, a Maclaren Buggy Organiser and many more. The first 20 guests will receive a gift bag filled with goodies such as Nuby bottles, Lovefit voucher for free coffee, Chocodores chocolate, discount vouchers for parent and baby web-shopping outlets, Byclara aprons and splash mats, cloth nappies from Baba and Boo, Lypsyl tubes, Savlon Plasters to name a few.
BrightonMums.com chose to support the Trevor Mann Baby Unit as it’s a key service in the local area for premature or sick newborn babies. ‘We know that many parents in the region rely on the unit if their baby is born early or has complications at birth. In fact, a friend of mine is having her newborn twins cared for there right now, so we have heard first hand, the tremendous work they do.’ says Claire Jones-Hughes co-founder of the site. ‘We wanted to celebrate our new look site by gathering parents from the community and raising some money for a charity many of us can relate to.’.
